Surrey (DARS & CDS)

Before making a referral please check carefully the referral guidelines to ensure that you are referring to the most appropriate service.

Check the address of the patients GP as you may need to refer outside Surrey.

The dental alveolar referral service (DARS) assesses the referrals to see if the treatment needs to be done in a hospital or by a dentist with additional training in oral surgery.

The referral is then passed to the appropriate treatment provider for assessment and treatment. Incorrect referrals will inevitably delay this process.

The Surrey Community Dental Service including Domiciliary Care has strict acceptance criteria for referrals and continuing care. Please read their referral guidance document.
